Experience

  1. Research Engineer

    Startup Research Project
    • Developed a coastal flooding Early Warning System for West Africa:
      • Analyzed historical and hindcast ocean parameters to establish a robust threshold for system activation.
      • The system is currently undergoing calibration and validation to ensure accuracy and reliability.
      • Explore the solution I am developing at safecoast
  2. Research Engineer

    • Demonstrated strong project management skills by coordinating and overseeing all aspects of the tender process
  3. Market Development and Outreach Officer

    Mercator ocean international
    • Developed case studies showcasing the application of ocean observation data in the blue economy, increasing stakeholder engagement
    • Facilitated an international Geo Blue Planet symposium and working group, promoting the use of ocean data for sustainable development
  4. Scientific Editor

    F-iniciativas
    • Evaluated the scientific merit and innovation potential of R&D projects, contributing to the approval of funding
    • Produced technical reports and conducted bibliographic research, ensuring compliance with strict quality standards
  5. Researcher engineer in cryosphere and Remote Sensing

Laboratoire d'Études en Géophysique et Océanographie Spatiales (LEGOS)
    • Remote Sensing of Antarctic Ice Sheet Dynamics: Analyzed multi-frequency radar altimetry and radiometry data from ENVISAT and SARAL/AltiKa satellites to study the seasonal dynamics of the Antarctic ice sheet’s near-surface properties.
    • Electromagnetic Modeling and Analysis: Conducted sensitivity tests with an electromagnetic model to identify how different radar frequency bands (S, Ku, and Ka) respond to varying snowpack properties such as density, roughness, and temperature.
    • Key Findings on Surface Properties: Demonstrated a significant influence of surface roughness on Ka-band brightness temperatures, a factor often previously neglected in modeling studies. The research highlighted the importance of multi-frequency altimetry and the potential of the S-band signal for studying seasonal surface roughness variability.
    • Algorithm Development: Provided new insights for developing robust algorithms to correct for radar wave penetration errors in dry snow, which improves the accuracy of surface elevation and ice-sheet volume trend estimations
  6. Information Technology and Management Officer

    Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC)
